Job Summary

Applies principles of Reservations staffing across engagement centers and lines of business. Provides analysis for determining Reservations staffing requirements based on changes in process, technology, and flight schedule.

Develops recommendations based on analysis and synthesis of information from multiple sources. Serves as liaison and subject matter expert on behalf of Resource Planning with Reservations leadership various stakeholders including Finance and Human Resources

Works cross-divisionally with various departments to provide Reservations input on the staffing-related operational impact of strategic and network decisions. Acts as subject matter expert in statistical analysis software and development of staffing models using resource planning software. Partner with technology provider to report and diagnose issues related to the staffing software. Develop individualized models in an effort to present the most efficient staffing solution to ad-hoc request

Create reporting that analyzes the monthly frontline staffing variances versus the Operating Plan. Consolidate monthly staffing reports for review with senior leadership. Develop complex Operating Plan templates for staffing, must be able to accurately portray the staffing needs of the upcoming year.

Serves as a subject matter expert for Resourcing Planning Specialist for all items related to staffing and staffing software. Performs training and provides guidance to new members of the Resource Planning team on staffing software and staffing models.

Performs data mining to build, validate and update models using Hyperion Brio. Runs analyses using Excel functionalities including lookup functions, statistical analysis (regression, correlation), creation and execution of macros, creation and manipulation of pivot tables, data validation functions, conditional formatting, data filtering, file linking, if / else statements, and charts and graphs, and uses Access to develop queries and execute files.

Leads resource planning related projects that aid in better deployment of resources and continually reviews processes to improve operational performance, productivity and efficiency. Acts as liaison with technology vendors and prepares ad hoc reporting and analyses as required.

Leverages staffing tools to ensure cost-effective flight scheduling implementation and drives continuous improvement.  Develops strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operation Management, Operations Research, Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field, and five years of work experience in manpower planning.
  • Or Master’s degree in Operation Management, Operations Research, Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field, and two years of work experience in manpower planning,

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in: applying principles of call center and/or airline staffing and call center/airport operations; developing recommendations based on analysis and synthesis of information from multiple sources; using statistical analysis software
  • Developing staffing models using resource planning software; data mining; using Excel functionalities, including lookup functions, statistical analysis (regression, correlation), creation and execution of macros, creation and manipulation of pivot tables, data validation functions, conditional formatting, data filtering, file linking, if / else statements, and charts and graphs; using Access to develop queries and execute files
  • Perform data mining to build, validate and update models ( Hyperion Brio and/or SAS
